CRAN Brown Bag Best Practices Panel Discussion

CRAN Greenville is gathering for a Brown Bag Best Practices Panel Discussion with four architects practicing primarily in the residential architectural realm in South and North Carolina.

Join us at the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, 22 May from 11:30 – 1, with the discussion starting at noon. (click here for included panelist information)

Water, iced tea and coffee will be provided.

You may bring your own lunch and/or alternative beverages.

Seating is limited so you must respond by Monday, 21 May if you wish to attend.  Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis via email to CRANgreenville@gmail.com

If you would like to discuss a particular topic, please include that in your email as well.  Frank Bain and Catherine Smith will be moderating the hopefully lively discussion about Getting, Doing and Organizing Work, which will be followed with a short Q&A.

Roxana Shell with Armstrong Floors and Bill Burgwald with Armstrong Ceilings are offering the following AIA CES presentations and invite you to join us at one of the dates and locations.

Installation of Commercial Resilient Flooring [1 LU]

This 1 hour course covers the following topics:  proper subfloor preparation, components of a successful installation which include jobsite conditions, product acclimation for tile, sheet and linoleum, tools for the job, review ASTM  F710 guidelines, and discuss installation methods for heat welding, coving, inside and corners and wall base installation.  The session is conducted by Rox Shell, Armstrong Commercial Territory Manager, and Wayne Williams, William M. Bird Installation Trainer and will include demonstrations.

Acoustical Design Strategies for Walls [1 LU]

This session provides insight on how to integrate wall assemblies and acoustical treatment into your design strategies.  Client needs ranging from improved sound quality to better intelligibility and speech privacy will be discussed.  Descriptions of acoustical terms related to walls will be covered along with performance-based results from different design strategies.  An overview of the LEED® for Schools rating system with new acoustical standards is also included, as well as practical applications across a variety of building segments.
